High Desert Memories - A Hometown Journal Commemorating Ridgecrest California
Bishop is the gateway to the High Sierra's via Highway 395. From here North it is a long climb to the high country. Close by is the June Lake Loop, Mammoth Mountain/Lakes area, Bridgeport, the route to Tioga Pass to enter Yosemite Nat'l Park from the eastern side of the mountains. There are several other points of interest along the way. Of course if your so inclined the final destination is Reno, Nevada.

Anything a horse can do a Mule can do better!!
Mule Days was started in 1969 by Eastern High Sierra Packers who wanted to get together for a good time and initiate their summer packing season. Since that first humble celebration, Mule Days has become an international world class event. The crowds have grown from 200 to over 30,000 fans visiting the Bishop area and event!
