High Desert Memories - A Hometown Journal Commemorating Ridgecrest California
In the late morning/early afternoon on the day of the reunion several folks gathered at El Charro's to finalize the decorations and since Pat had just arrived with the Memories Books and the Name badges, to separate the books and name badges into the "check in" envelopes that Joan, Cheryl and Suzanne were setting up.
Pat Jones, Cheryl (Goode) Bernhardi and Joan (Kimley) McKernan go over all the final details at the check in desk.
Above - left to right - Joan (Kimley) McKernan, Jackie (Dwinell) Pappas and Suzanne (Hough) Basden meet Pat Jones for the first time in 50 years. though we had been communicating for quite some time this is the first time we had seen each other since high school.
This little lady's name is Feather and she oversaw the entire proceedings and reminded us of who we were and what our High School mascot was. She got kissed a by a couple of wayward individuals on Thursday Nite. She went tothe affair at the Elks club too and got a bit of special treatment there.
Mission accomplished!!!! These gals deserve a little rest and recreation. But . . . .
I thoroughly enjoyed working o n our 50th reunion. It was nice corresponding with so many classmates and working with the committee. It was also exciting to get the mail every day to see who was coming. Lets do it again!!!!
Jackie Pappas sez:
"Actually I attended a couple of the meetings and did the table decorations. Remembering 1956 was a blast and such a good time in my life. Thankfully I have stayed in touch with so many of the classmates and always have such a great time at the "Carr's" in Arroyo Grande. I really think this was just a great amount of work from people who really show our spirit. We had funback there and continue to do so today."
